lost childhood

The sweet waters receded Liya Dostleva, Andriy Dostlev, Olha Sklyarska “The sweet waters receded” is the collection of stories about childhood, that may seem to be the reference to terrifying folk tales with their gloom aesthetic, sense of loss and danger. However, the project is based on direct quotations of people, who experienced deportation, exile, wars or imprisonment as children. On the one hand, sweet sugar mass, which scenes of memories are built from, is associated with childhood. On the other hand, this mass is pliant enough to build completely non-child stories.
